Old Business:

Re-instating an SAF member to the Alaska Board of Forestry:

This issue was discussed by the Alaska SAF Chapter’s executive committee at the November 29th teleconference. Some members of the committee (namely Paul Maki – State DNR employee) expressed concern over attaching any wording to the HB 131 or SB98 that would impede passage of these bills. A letter expressing Alaska SAF’s wish to have the B.O.F. consult w/ the Alaska SAF when filling the professional forester seat was recently sent to the governor, the state forester, and Senator Halford.

The next meeting will be on Thursday, January 10th, 2002 at the Prospector lounge.
