The Society of America Foresters is pleased to sponsor a "Category Award" at the 2002 Science Fair to be held March 2,2002.

The Title of Award would be:

OUR RENEWABLE FOREST RESOURCES

OBJECTIVE: To encourage an understanding of the renewable forest resources or uses for the products

JUDGING CRITERIA AND CONSIDERATIONS: Science Projects that deal with any stage of the renewable forest resource will be considered for the award.

How the student(s):

- Define the project.

- Research past knowledge concerning the project,

- Design and construct any needed research and/or testing apparatus,

- Organize and write the paper,

- Present the project and findings at the fair, and

- Present the project to the judge(s) at the fair

will be evaluated.

AMMOUNT OF AWARD:

$100.00 First Place

$50.00 Second Place

JUDGES: Designated representatives from the Society of American Foresters will do the judging.
