MONTHLY MEETING NOTES FOR MAY 9, 2002

Members Present.

Cal Richert, Ron Dipold, Dick Zaborske, Wayne Nicolls, Gene Miller John Sandor and James Bartelme.

Old Business.

Minutes and Treasurer’s Report from April were accepted.

New Business.

Arbor Day:

• May 19.
• Juneau Chapter will thin a test plot for riparian management along Duck Creek.
• Need volunteers to help, please call folks.

Echo Grove

• Several years ago, SAF marked trees that are now being harvested.
• Lumber is being used at the camp.

Gold Rush Display:

• Members need to collect old pictures (last 100 years) of before and after shots of early harvesting to mount on an 8’ X 8’ display board.
• John Sandor is going to be asking for some help to put this together.
• Date is June 29-30

Totem Pole

• We are not ready to declare the project dead, but it does have some issues that need a great deal of work.
• Gene is working on securing grants for the project. Total cost estimate is $95,000 including donated goods and services. Out of pocket cost estimate is $40,000.

Walk in the Woods:

• Will be at Peterson Creek.
• May 31.

Next Meeting: June 13, 2002, Prospector, 12-1:30.
